It is very exciting seeing the shape. The rafters are boric treated pine – for structural timbers there are so many rules it’s difficult to use something other than the tested materials.
All the cladding, ceiling and floors will be NZ grown redwood and recycled native timber though, and the windows will be untreated larch.
Haha it’s all shed. Only the upstairs is ‘living’. Downstairs we are each trying to claim more workshop space. C keeps trying to give me the laundry room. You can imagine how well that goes down. The rest is a chiller, for food (and tulip) storage, an area for potting, muddy boots, washing vegetables, and cider making, and a big area for tool storage and one day a boat.
